If you’re looking for ways to become more sustainable at home, sustainable bedding is a great way to contribute to a lower carbon footprint. Every day, we use a lot of products around the house that are not great for the environment. By switching to eco-friendly bedding, you will automatically lower your carbon footprint as this bedding is made with sustainable materials and is even made in a zero waste eco factory. The Fine Bedding Company’s greatest priority is creating comfortable, luxury bedding that is as sustainable as possible. Let’s talk about our newest addition to our sustainable family: the Vegan Down Duvet.
What is a Vegan Duvet?
We have recently launched our new duvet, which is a Vegan Down Duvet. For people who enjoy the warmth and comfort that a Goose Feather and Down Duvet has to offer, but don’t want to purchase products that have animal products in them, the Vegan Down Duvet is the perfect solution. Our Vegan Down Duvet simulates the luxurious loft of natural down without any animal components or derivatives; making it more ethically conscious whilst also easier to launder. A vegan duvet uses a filling of our signature Smartfil fibres made from recycled plastic bottles. The sustainable filling traps air and warmth in the same way a natural down duvet does, which gives it the same comfort. The cover of the Vegan Down Duvet is made out of 100% Sustainably Sourced Cotton, which provides comfort and breathability, even through the warmer summer nights.
Do You Scrimp On Quality Or Lifespan When You Shop Vegan?
A question we often get asked is whether the quality or durability of a Vegan Down Duvet is lower than for a normal duvet. All of our products are created to last a long time, as durability is an important factor in sustainability. If you take care of your vegan bedding well, it will last for many years. Another thing that might be of concern is the comfort of a Vegan Down Duvet. As the filling is made out of recycled plastic bottles, people often wonder how comfortable that can exactly be. Let us tell you: very comfortable! You will not notice the difference between a normal duvet or a duvet that is made out of recycled materials. With a vegan duvet, you get the same comfort as a normal duvet, but without the high carbon footprint.
What Are The Advantages and Sustainable Benefits?
If you’re thinking about switching to a Vegan Down Duvet, it’s good to know that there are a lot of advantages and sustainable benefits. Most importantly, there are no animal products used and the microfibre filling of the duvet is extremely environmentally friendly. Besides that, the duvet is as comfortable as a real down duvet and provides the same level of warmth. On washing day, you will experience the benefits of the Vegan Down Duvet too, as it’s a lot easier to launder than a normal down duvet. If you’re in doubt on how to wash a duvet, we recommend reading our guide with all our tips. In short, the benefits include:
- A lower carbon footprint
- No plucking on animals
- Recycled materials
- Produced in our zero waste eco-factory
- Easier to launder
- Provides durability and comfort
What is good to know about our fibre filled bedding is that all of our products are made with sustainable materials in our eco-factory. With real down duvets, we are down pass certified which means we ensure that there is no live plucking or force feeding on the animals and that the animals are generally treated well. Sustainability is of great importance to The Fine Bedding Company and is translated into all steps of our production process.
