It’s spring time. The clock has gone forward, giving us an extra hour of light at the end of the day. Days are longer, temperatures are slowly rising and the sun is finally making its appearance more regularly than in the cold winter months. Spring is often seen as a season of renewal and a fresh start. Especially in the UK, where we’ve been living snuggled up in front of the fireplace all winter. It’s time to refresh your interior and particularly your bedroom to prepare yourself for the warmer nights ahead. For the most comfortable sleep, we’re introducing our 400 Thread Count 100% Cotton Linens - the newest addition to our bed linen collection.

How Often Should You Buy New Sheets?

Before we dive into the introduction of our new linens, let’s first talk about how regularly you should be replacing your bedding. When talking to family and friends, these answers can vary a lot so the real question remains: how often should you buy new sheets? Whilst some brands might tell you that sheets should be replaced every 6 months to keep the hygiene levels high - this is a lie. Or at least, it’s a lie if you’re investing in high quality bedding.

At The Fine Bedding Company, sustainability is one of our key priorities which is why we are always trying to avoid throwing away bedding when it’s not needed. Our high quality, luxury linens will likely last up to two or three years, that is, if you take good care of them. This means you have to wash your sheets regularly, preferably every week to 10 days, to maintain the quality of the bedding.

High Thread Count Bedding

So when you’re looking for new sheets, it can be quite dazzling how many options there are on the market. And then we haven’t even touched on ‘thread count’ yet, which makes the whole purchasing process even more difficult and slow. In our Guide To Thread Count, you can read everything there is to know about the topic. A simple way to explain thread count is that it’s a count of the vertical and horizontal number of threads per square inch of fabric. This doesn’t automatically mean that the higher the thread count, the higher the quality.

If you prefer lightweight, airy sheets, then a lower thread count is probably best for you. Our Classic 200 Thread Count Duvet Cover is perfect for you in this case. Made out of 100% sustainably sourced BCI cotton, this duvet cover provides you with the ultimate comfort during the night.

However, if you're someone who prefers a heavier and denser, a higher thread count is the way to go. Our newest additions to the linens collection are the 400 Thread Count Duvet Cover and 400 Thread Count Pillowcases. All made from 100% sustainably sourced BCI cotton, supporting cotton communities whilst protecting and restoring the environment.

The 400 Thread Count Bedding is made using the finest quality cotton which guarantees breathability throughout the night. This makes the sheets perfect for spring and summer time, as it still has the breathability you’ll need to enjoy the warmer nights. Besides this, the duvet cover and pillowcase have a luxurious smoothness against the skin, meaning you’ll have a comfortable, peaceful sleep without any scratchy materials rubbing against your skin.

The percale weave of the 400 Thread sheets gives a smooth finish and more importantly, is highly durable so it won’t lose its quality from regular laundering.
